Sydney is a great sister. She helps all of us stay organized and on task even though this is a tough job. She is junior in high school, studies college level exams, and challenges all of us to a higher standard. She loves leading, directing, and coaching our practices and performances. She is pretty important to our band. Sydney was encouraged to start the piano when she was ten by our parents, but when she was 12 she begged her parents to play the violin like Hunter. She has been fiddling ever since. Sydney’s love for music has expanded to even more instruments, but she keeps piano and violin as her primary instruments. Last year, she fell in love with the cello and began teaching herself. Currently, it’s her favorite instrument and fondly calls it, “Charlie”. Sydney also enjoys landscaping, driving, organizing, and hanging out with her family. We are very thankful for Sydney!
Hunter is creative, hardworking, dependable and annoying! The first three have gotten him lots of jobs with the neighbors and helped him excel in music. Being annoying and persistent has helped us get ready to go and out the door on time. He began fiddle at the age of 10 and over the last couple of years, he has added a few other instruments to his musical abilities. His favorite instruments right now are the bass and guitar. He is 15 and is stepping more and more into a leadership role in all that he does. There is a lot that goes into preparing for performances, and our family couldn’t do it without Hunter. His good ear, pursuit of excellence, getting us ready to go and on time are much appreciated. When not playing music, Hunter is busy outside. He enjoys outdoor activities of all kinds---camping, sports, building projects, helping out in the yard, and more.
Bryson is called “Bub”. It is short for Bubbalusa. He is a fun brother. Bub loves to play, run, jump, climb, swing, fly, roll, and more. He is thirteen and has to eat a lot. He absolutely loves to eat. When he isn’t eating you can find him driving the lawn mower, motorcycles, and our cars--- when mom and dad let him. Musically, Bryson’s main instrument is the fiddle, but his favorite instrument is the guitar. He also enjoys playing the bass and messing around with the sound board. He likes to mess around with lots of things. He likes to see how things work. If something is taken apart in our home, we know it was Bub. When mom ran the tub for a nice hot bath, but discovered it was filled with cold water, she knew it was Bub who had switched the knobs. We are grateful for Bub!
Riley is a lively, talkative eleven year old. He makes us laugh a lot. This year, he is in fifth grade and loves to read a ton. He is the family social butterfly and is always bouncing around with energy. As of this month, his favorite instrument is the ukulele, but next week who knows. He also enjoys the fiddle, singing, and being his our primary bass player. He enjoys joking around, playing pranks on everyone, and hanging out with his family especially his grandparents. One of his favorite hobbies is spending time in our attic-- which is kind of us boy’s man cave. He can also be found riding his bike, talking, playing with his giant stuffed bear, talking, trying to grow the biggest nasturtiums, talking, climbing trees, talking, riding dirt bikes, and talking.
Last, but not least is Chasity. She is 6 years old and keeps us all on our toes. She helps the boys to learn how to care for her baby dolls while they teach her to work hard, do push ups, climb trees, play Nerf guns, and wrestle. Chasity helps Sydney clean their room, and Sydney helps her with homeschooling. She likes to play with dolls, swing outside, and listen to books. She has a fiddle and is slowly coming along. She enjoys singing and dancing. We are blessed to have her as our little sister and look forward to her playing an instrument in the band someday.
